New albums, familiar sleeves and a small negotiation with the shelf space.

Roxette, Boy Harsher, Tina Turner and seven more share a release date. A look through our 18 September vinyl selection, from new albums to anniversary editions.

Ten records sharing a release date can make the calendar look unusually decisive. Our selection for Friday, 18 September moves from Roxette to Boy Harsher, with Tina Turner, Rhiannon Giddens and Anthrax among the company. Seating them at dinner might take a little thought. Finding a place for them in a record shop is rather easier.

There is no requirement to choose one musical personality for the week. A shelf can accommodate a familiar chorus, a new voice and something considerably less inclined to keep the peace. That is part of the pleasure of looking through a mixed selection: the next sleeve gets to interrupt whatever plan you arrived with.

A practical detail before the browsing begins: these editions are listed for release on 18 September 2026 and are available to pre-order. Some are new albums; others bring an older title back in a particular edition. The date on the listing belongs to that pressing, so it pays to read past the artist's name.

Roxette's Room Service arrives in its 25th anniversary edition on two black LPs. Twenty-five years is a slightly impertinent number to attach to an album you may still think of as relatively recent. The calendar has been busy while we were listening. For anyone returning to this title, the anniversary is a useful invitation to consider the whole record again.
