The Room Learns to Float
AIR's Moon Safari is on the shelf today: a 2023 LP reissue for anyone who likes electronic music with manners, melody, and a very good sense of lighting.
Some records do not enter a room so much as adjust the lamps.
Moon Safari is one of those.
AIR made an album that seems relaxed until you notice how little is accidental. The drums are soft, the synths glow, the bass moves with excellent posture, and everything appears to have arrived early enough to choose the best chair.
That sort of calm can be misleading.
