Today's Shelf Pull: Ashtar Afterhours, The Cherries Have Faces

Ashtar Afterhours are on the shelf today with Body Music: a 2025 LP where deep house, warm bass and a sleeve full of worried pink fruit all keep the counter awake.

Some records arrive trying to look mysterious.

Body Music arrives with a white sleeve, green stems, pink fruit, and several small faces that appear to have just been told the coffee machine is making a noise again.

Ashtar Afterhours are on the shelf today, and the sleeve is already doing more social work than most album covers attempt before lunch. Little cherries, berries, or possibly deeply concerned nightclub citizens hang from rough green lines across the white space. Some look calm. Some look worried. One or two look as if they have seen the card machine decline at exactly the wrong moment.

Good. A record sleeve should have a little public feeling.
