Danzig III: How The Gods Kill finds the band working at its most imposing: heavy metal built from blunt riffs, blues-rooted menace and Glenn Danzig’s commanding, theatrical voice. “Godless” opens with a slow, forbidding weight, while “Bodies” and “Dirty Black Summer” bring a more immediate physical drive. The title track is the centrepiece, stretching the album’s tension into a dramatic rise rather than rushing towards release. The record’s range is crucial to its character. “Heart Of The Devil” and “Left Hand Black” lean into muscular, shadowy hard rock, but “Sistinas” strips that force back for a stark, crooning performance.
