Apex Predator - Easy Meat is Napalm Death in 2015, nearly three decades after Scum, still treating extremity as a moral instrument rather than a heritage costume. Produced with Russ Russell and recorded across sessions in 2014, the album uses grindcore, death metal, noise-rock pressure and industrial unease to attack systems that turn human beings into units of labour, consumption and disposal. The title track opens with a frightening ritual slowness before the record detonates; Smash a Single Digit compresses rage into a short, cutting burst; How the Years Condemn and Dear Slum Landlord show that the band's later writing could be dynamic without losing ferocity. Mark Greenway's vocals remain a weapon, but the album's force also comes from arrangement: abrupt tempo changes, suffocating textures, bass grind, blasts and moments where the noise seems to think before striking. It is not nostalgia for 1987; it is a veteran band proving that political disgust can still generate new shapes.

Apex Predator - Easy Meat matters because it shows Napalm Death's later catalogue operating at a high creative level, not merely preserving grindcore history. The album connects the band's original speed and outrage to 2010s economic violence, giving extreme music a renewed social target.

For collectors, this is one of the strongest modern Napalm Death entries to place beside Scum and From Enslavement to Obliteration. Its value is the contrast: the same ethical nerve and speed obsession, but sharpened by decades of experience, heavier production and broader textural control.

Modern grindcore and deathgrind with blast beats, hoarse roars, industrial tension, noise-rock abrasion, abrupt shifts, thick bass pressure and politically charged violence.

Recommended for: Napalm Death fans who want a late-career high point; Collectors of 2010s extreme metal with political substance; Listeners who like grindcore that uses texture as well as speed.
